Calls marked private or anonymous will receive the following message: "The party you are calling does not accept blocked calls. To call this person, hang up, dial *82 to unblock your line and dial the number again."

ACR does not reject "unavailable" or "out of area" calls since they are not blocked by the caller. Usually these calls are not directly dialed. These calls originate from a number that can't be read by Caller ID for example, calls made with the assistance of an Operator, billed to a calling card, or placed from some cellular phones.

Caller ID Blocking

Sometimes you may not want your number to be available to the person you are calling. By dialing *67 before placing a call you can prevent your name and number from being sent.

Caller ID Per Call Blocking allows a customer to temporarily prevent the transmission of that customer's directory name/number when making a call, and thus control availability of the calling name/number to the called party. The transmission of the directory name/number can be temporarily prevented on an as needed basis by dialing a pre-assigned access code prior to making a call. This action must be repeated each time a call is made to prevent transmission of the directory name/number. Caller ID Per Call Blocking is available to all customers. Caller ID Per Call Blocking does not prevent transmission of the calling party number on services such as E911, 800/888 and 950 that utilize Automatic Number Identification (ANI) for delivery of the calling number.

Caller ID Unblocking

If the person you are calling has anonymous call rejection and you have blocked your number using caller ID block or have suppression on your line, your call will not go through. Instead you will be routed to the following announcement: “The party you are calling does not accept blocked calls. If you are calling from a blocked number, please hang up, pick up the receiver, dial *82 and redial the phone number.

If the customer makes or receives another call after hanging up from the traced call, or if the Enhanced Call Waiting feature is activated prior to activating the trace, Call Trace will not record the correct number.
