On Thursday, June 6th, Valley participated at the Willcox Theater and Arts Summer Institute of Engineering and Technology with two separate segments. The first one was led by our network team with a hands-on fiber splicing workshop that let taught the youth in attendance how to actually prep, cut and complete fusion-based fiber optics splicing in the same way Valley employees do in the field of operations. The students enthusiastically tackled the exercise and had some great technical questions about tensile strength, etc. for Valley staffers. Overall, A great way to get this group of 7th through 9th graders interested in broadband technology and possible careers.
