Using the Voicemail System

Answers your calls and takes a message anytime you can't answer, even when you're on the phone.

The voicemail system is menu driven. Listen to the voice prompts and then press the keys on your phone to select which option you would like.

Note:  You must innitialize your mailbox before you can use it.

To initialize your mailbox:

To access your voice mailbox for the first time, dial *98 from your home phone. You will then be asked to set up a PIN to access your mailbox, record your name and a greeting to be played to callers.

Your PIN must consist of 4 to 20 digits and cannot contain * or #. You cannot access your voicemail without a PIN so choose something you can remember.

  1. When you have selected your new PIN, press the # key
  2. When prompted, re-enter your PIN and press #.

Accessing Your Voicemail:

From Your Home Phone.

  1. Dial *98 on your home phone.
  2. Enter your voicemail PIN.
  3. If you have new messages, the messages will be identified.
  4. When you have one or more unheard voice messages waiting, you will hear a stuttered dial tone.
  5. After hearing any message, you will be presented with the Voicemail Main Menu.

Away From Home.

  1. Dial your home phone number.
  2. When your personal greeting begins, press the * key.
  3. When prompted, enter your PIN followed by the # key.
  4. Listen to the voice prompts and then press the keys on your phone to select which option you would like.

Record  Your Personal Greeting:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. From the Main Menu, press 3.
  3. To set up a personal greeting press 1.
  4. To set up a system generated greeting or to change the recording of your name press 3.
  5. To change the greeting that callers hear when you're busy press 5.
  6. If you don't record a personal greeting, a generic greeting will be played
  7. To exit press the * key.

After Listening to a Message:

New Message Options.

When finished listening to your new messages follow the prompt options below:

  • Press (1) to repeat the message.
  • Press (2) to save the message.
  • Press (3) to delete the message.
  • Press (4) to reply to the message.
  • Press (5) to send a copy of the message.
  • Press (#) to leave message marked new.

Saved Message Options.

When finished listening to your saved messages follow the prompt options below:

  • Press (1) to repeat the message.
  • Press (2) to leave the message marked new
  • Press (3) to delete the message.
  • Press (4) to reply to the message.
  • Press (5) to send a copy of the message.
  • Press (#) to leave message marked saved.

Changing Your Password:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. From the Main Menu, press 4 to change your settings.
  3. Press 3 for security options.
  4. Press 1 to change the PIN.

E-Mail Notification:

Voice Mail messages are delivered via the Internet, as an audible file to your personal computer's e-mail address, in addition to delivery to your mailbox.
