Holidays bring people together in joyful celebration and this year was no exception as residents of the Gila Valley gathered on Main Street in downtown Safford for the annual "Merry Mainstreet" celebration the last Saturday of November. The event was staged by the Safford Downtown Association and featured the lighting of the Christmas Tree, City Hall and the Graham County Courthouse along with lots of great activities and food for everyone who attended and of course, an appearance by that jolly old elf Santa to visit with kids both young and old alike. Valley got to play its part by sponsoring the giant "Alpine Slide". We love it when we get to be involved with such vibrant community celebration no matter what season it is.
